To use the Rice Reciprocal Borrowing Program, you should identify the book you want before visiting the library and note its call number. You can find this information by searching Rice University’s Fondren Library online catalog. If you need assistance locating a book or finding its call number, a reference librarian at Doherty Library will be happy to help.
| Borrowing Limit | Borrow up to four books at one time. |
| Loan Period | 12 weeks. |
| Renewals | Renewals are not available. |
| Overdue Fines | Rice University assesses overdue fines of $1.00 per item per day. |
| Returns | Return borrowed materials to Doherty Library or Fondren Library by the assigned due date. |
| Eligibility | Reciprocal borrowing is available only while regular University of St. Thomas classes are in session. |
Once your request has been approved, Doherty Library will notify you and Rice University’s Fondren Library by email. You will receive updates regarding your request and any next steps needed to access the requested materials.
