About the Program
Wholistic Pre-Health Preparation
Undergraduate Students:
At the University of St. Thomas, undergraduate students in any major can add a Pre-Health Professions Track to ensure they complete all the requirements for their future program.
Pre-Health Tracks include:
- Pre-Medical

- Pre-Anesthesiology Assistant
- Pre-Physician Assistant
- Pre-Physical Therapy

Academic Study
Personalized Oversight
Students will be assigned a faculty advisor from the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC), who will guide you through the steps required to become the strongest possible applicant for your health professions school.
HPAC offers:
- Introductory workshop for new pre-health students
- Application workshops
- CV/Resume and Personal Statement workshops
- Mock interviews with alumni health professionals (with individualized feedback)
- Discounted Kaplan preparatory courses for entrance exams
- Composite committee letters for qualifying students applying to medical and dental schools
About the Program
Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP)
UST participates in the Joint Admission Medical Program. JAMP is an undergraduate pipeline program created by the Texas Legislature to close the gaps between participation and success for economically disadvantaged Texans pursuing their dreams of becoming a doctor. Students who fulfill all program requirements, including maintaining a minimum GPA and achieving a qualifying MCAT score, are guaranteed admission to one of the Texas Medical Schools. Already earned your bachelor’s degree but still need prerequisites for your health profession school? The UST Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program offers the coursework and advising support you need to move forward.
We offer:
- Non-certificate programs for students needing fewer than 30 prerequisite STEM credits
- Certificate programs (four options) for qualifying students requiring more than 30 prerequisite STEM credits
Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Tracks include:
- Pre-Medical (non-certificate and certificate)
- Pre-Dental (non-certificate and certificate)
- Pre-Anesthesiology Assistant (non-certificate and certificate)
