Explore the options below to find study environments and technology resources that meet your academic needs.
Located on the library’s main floor, the Circulation Desk is your primary service point for library assistance. Staff can help you check out and return materials, pick up course reserves and holds, borrow study room keys and equipment, answer general questions, and connect you with additional library services when needed.
Located on the library’s main floor, the Reference Desk is your go-to place for research assistance. Librarians are available to help you find books, articles, and other resources, develop search strategies, navigate library databases, and answer questions to support your coursework, teaching, and research.
For your convenience, library materials can be returned using either of our book drops. An exterior book drop is located outside the library entrance for after-hours returns, and an interior book drop is available in the library’s main lobby during regular library hours.
Every student works differently. Doherty Library offers a variety of study spaces, from quiet areas for focused work to collaborative rooms for group projects. Explore our study spaces to learn about available amenities, locations, and reservation options.
Individual study rooms provide a quiet space for focused studying or research. Each room is equipped with a desk, chair, and electrical outlets for personal devices.
Group study rooms provide reservable spaces for collaborative work and can accommodate 2–6 people. Each room is equipped with electrical outlets and a whiteboard to support group projects and study sessions.
Quiet study areas are designated spaces where noise is kept to a minimum, providing an environment for focused study. These areas include electrical outlets, soft seating, and tables and chairs for individual use.
The library provides technology resources to support teaching, learning, and research. From our Open Access Labs to other technology services, you’ll find the tools you need to complete assignments, conduct research, and stay connected while on campus.
OALs are computer labs that provide a wide range of computers and software.
Doherty Library provides access to a computer lab, printers, scanners, and additional computing resources located in the library lobby.
Doherty Library offers a variety of equipment for checkout, including computer chargers, phone chargers, headphones, and whiteboard marker kits.

A dedicated Mezzanine space for Graduate Philosophy students and faculty, featuring Special Collections and a quiet environment for research and collaboration.
Located in the Doherty Library basement, the Research Success Center provides research instruction and guidance to help students develop effective research skills.
A reservable basement workspace for adjunct faculty and students, providing a quiet area for office use, presentations, research, and independent work.
Located in the Doherty Library basement, the University Testing Center provides secure, distraction-reduced testing services for students with approved accommodations.
The Drone Lab provides a space for hands-on learning, research, and innovation using unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Users can explore drone technology, aerial imaging, and flight operations in a collaborative learning environment.
