Access & Disability Services (ADS)
Ensuring Access. Empowering Success.
Our Center
Giving You the Tools
The Office of Access and Disability Services (ADS) ensures that all students at the University of St. Thomas have equal access to academic programs, campus facilities, and university-sponsored activities.
We partner with students, faculty, and staff to remove barriers, promote inclusion, and support the success of students with disabilities. Guided by the Basilian and UST charisms of Goodness, Discipline, Knowledge, and Community, our office is committed to creating a environment where every student can thrive.

How to Use Our Office
Get Accommodations
How do I register with ADS?
Students should complete the online New Student Application in the AIM Student Portal and upload supporting documentation. Once your application is submitted, an ADS staff member will contact you by email to schedule an intake meeting.
What documentation is required?
Documentation must describe the nature of your disability and explain the functional limitations in an academic setting. It can be from a licensed professional such as a physician, psychologist, or educational diagnostician.
Do my accommodations transfer from another school?
Accommodations from other institutions do not automatically transfer. However, previous documentation can be helpful when determining reasonable accommodations at UST.
How do instructors receive my accommodation letter?
Once your accommodations are approved, you can send your accommodation letters to instructors through the AIM Student Portal. Instructors will receive a notification by email.
When should I request accommodated test proctoring services?
Requests should be submitted at least five business days before the exam date to ensure space and proctor availability in the Testing Center. Accommodated testing requests can be submitted in the AIM Student Portal.
What if I need additional support during the semester?
ADS is here to help! You can schedule a follow-up meeting at any time to review your accommodations or connect to additional resources such as tutoring, counseling, or academic coaching.
