Our Purpose
What is Title IX?
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding. This includes:
- Sexual harassment and sexual assault
- Dating and domestic violence
- Stalking
- Gender-based discrimination or harassment
- Discrimination related to pregnancy or parenting

Supportive Measures
The Title IX Office provides supportive measures to help individuals maintain equal access to education and university activities. These are available regardless of whether a formal complaint is filed and may include:

Do I have to file a formal complaint to get support?
No. You can receive supportive measures and information about your options without filing a formal complaint.
Can I report anonymously?
Yes. Anonymous reports are accepted, though including your contact information allows the university to provide direct support.
What happens after I report?
The Title IX Coordinator will contact you to discuss available resources, options for resolution, and next steps. You will not be required to participate in any process.
Are reports kept confidential?
Information is shared only with university officials who need to know in order to respond appropriately and in compliance with federal law.
Does the policy apply to incidents off campus?
Yes, if the conduct has a continuing impact on a student’s access to the university’s programs or activities.

The Title IX Office promotes awareness and prevention through:
- Mandatory Title IX training for all students and employees
- Bystander intervention and healthy relationships programming
- Awareness campaigns during Sexual Assault Awareness Month and throughout the year
- Custom workshops for student organizations, athletics, and residence life
