Originally from the Boston area, Greg worked in industry for several years after completing his undergraduate work, doing a mix of product development and analytical chemistry at National Starch and Chemical, Johnson & Johnson, and the Scientific Lab Division in New Mexico.

After completing his Ph.D., he worked at the University of New Mexico, Ithaca College and Southern Oregon University, before finding a home at the University of St. Thomas.

Greg teaches general chemistry, physical chemistry, and computational chemistry and mentors undergraduate research. A trained physical chemist and computational chemist, He has two active project areas.

The first is exploring antibiotic targets in mycobacterium tuberculosis, using classical and quantum simulations to understand protein dynamics, enzyme mechanisms, and finding small molecule inhibitors.

The second is exploring the use of LLMs in undergraduate education, tested against traditional pedagogy, and evaluating both short and long term outcomes.
