Join us for Constitution Day 2026: America at 250. We'll have a lecture by Adam Laxalt with an introduction by Dr. Kevin Stuart.

The event will be Thursday, Sept. 17. A reception will open the event at 4:30 p.m. in the Center for Science and Health Professions atrium. The lecture will be at 6 p.m. in Cullen Hall.

Speaker: Adam Laxalt

Adam Laxalt is a partner at Cooper & Kirk. He previously served as Nevada’s 33rd Attorney General. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University and earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Iraq War. Laxalt also served as an Assistant Professor of Law at the U.S. Naval Academy. Laxalt serves of the Board of Directors for the University of St. Thomas.

Introduction: Dr. Kevin Stuart

Dr. Kevin Stuart is the Director of the Nesti Center for Faith & Culture and the Director of the Master of Public Policy & Administration Program (MPPA). Previously, he served as president of the Austin Institute for the Study of Family & Culture, a social science research institute in Austin, Texas. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin where he studied public law and political philosophy, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge. He earned a Master of Sciences from the London School of Economics after receiving undergraduate degrees in history and English literature from Louisiana State University. He is chairman of the board for the Catholic Education Growth Fund, past chairman of the Diocesan School Advisory Board for the Diocese of Austin, editor of the Catholicism & Society book series for the Society for Catholic Social Scientists (Franciscan University Press), a former headmaster at St. Mary’s Catholic High School (in Taylor, Tex.) and the owner of an award-winning strategy consulting and media firm.
