John Corrigan, Ph.D., is a native of Pennsylvania who came to love philosophy while studying at Christendom College in Virginia. This led to studies in Liechtenstein and Chile and 20 years of teaching philosophy and theology to nurses and business students before coming to UST.

He began at UST as an assistant professor and assistant director of the John Paul II Institute and now serves as an associate professor and the Director of the John Paul II Institute. He is an assistant editor of and collaborator on the journal Wojtyla Studies.

For Dr. Corrigan, a professor should be a model for lifelong learning. The student should be able to see evidence of diligent study in the acquisition of knowledge in the professor. Dr. Corrigan’s research integrates the Thomist Tradition with the philosophy of Karol Wojtyla. Wojtyla, according to Dr. Corrigan, offers us a set of keys capable of unlocking lacunae in the history of philosophy and offering insights regarding the apparently divergent accounts of human experience as expressed in ancient/medieval philosophy on the one hand and the modern philosophies of consciousness on the other.
