Political Science Courses
Examine Political Systems and Public Policy
The political science program examines the foundations of political systems, public policy, constitutional government, international relations, political philosophy, and comparative politics. Pre-Law Track
Pre-law program in Houston
For students planning to attend law school, UST offers a Pre-Law Track and minor that complements the Political Science major. The program provides a strong academic foundation in legal reasoning, constitutional law, public policy, and analytical writing while ensuring students complete the coursework needed to prepare competitive applications to Texas law schools and other leading law programs nationwide.

Political Science Leadership
Dr. Yao-Yuan Yeh
Dr. Yao-Yuan Yeh currently serves as a tenured professor and the Fayez Sarofim – Cullen Trust for Higher Education Endowed Chair in International Studies at University of St. Thomas, Houston. He is also the Chair of the Department of Political Science, International Studies, and Modern Languages, Director of the Master’s Program in Diplomacy and Strategic Affairs, Director of the Taiwan and East Asia Studies Program, and Director of the Mandarin Center jointly operated by the University of St. Thomas and Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages.
