About Dual Credit

If you’re currently in high school or you’re a high school age student who’s being home-schooled, you can take college-level classes face-to-face here at UST. Most courses are entry-level in areas like Math, History, English, Economics, Theology and others. By doing this, you receive “dual credit” – credit towards your high school diploma and your college degree. This has several benefits:
- Reduces your time in college
- Saves you money
- Better prepares you for your actual college experience
At UST, the course work will be a little more challenging and specific, plus you get the benefit of small class sizes and personal attention from amazing faculty.
Because we’re regionally accredited, you’re guaranteed to receive college credit for all courses you successfully complete.
Admissions Requirements
To be admitted for dual credit courses at UST:
- You must be a junior or senior in high school or home school while taking classes at UST
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on high school coursework, supported by official transcript
- Admission criteria based on PSAT, SAT and ACT scores
Home-schooled students with standardized test scores are welcome.
If you want to enroll in a course with a prerequisite, you must successfully complete that prerequisite before you’ll be allowed to register.

Dual credit courses are offered at a discounted rate – just $375 per dual credit course.
Dual credit courses offer currently enrolled high school students an opportunity to take actual college level courses alongside our current UST students. In addition, our dual credit students have access to the UST library, athletic facilities and other resources on our campus.
