John R. Leavins holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Houston. He also holds the professional designations of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor. Dr. Leavins is a full professor of Accounting and currently serves as chair of the Accounting Department at the University of St. Thomas. Professor Leavins has published a wide array of scholarly articles on accounting, auditing, and taxation in various professional journals. In addition, he has many years of experience as a practitioner in public and private accounting.
