Dr. Kevin E. Stuart, the CFC’s Director, is an assistant professor of political science. Previously, he served as president of the Austin Institute for the Study of Family & Culture, a social science research institute in Austin, Texas. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin where he studied public law and political philosophy, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge. He earned a Master of Sciences from the London School of Economics after receiving undergraduate degrees in history and English literature from Louisiana State University. He is chairman of the board for the Catholic Education Growth Fund, past chairman of the Diocesan School Advisory Board for the Diocese of Austin, editor of the Catholicism & Society book series for the Society for Catholic Social Scientists (Franciscan University Press), a former headmaster at St. Mary’s Catholic High School (in Taylor, Tex.) and the owner of an award-winning strategy consulting and media firm. He and his wife have three boys under the age of 10, so all work papers have crayon on them.
