Martin Lockerd, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of English and Director of the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies. Dr. Lockerd received his Ph.D. in English from The University of Texas at Austin and has been teaching at the collegiate level for nearly a decade. He joined the faculty of UST in 2022 to shepherd the Core Curriculum. In addition to teaching classes on Irish literature, Dr. Lockerd has been leading summer study abroad trips to Ireland since 2019.    

Dr. Lockerd has published numerous academic articles and two books: Decadent Catholicism and the Making of Modernism (2020) and Suicide in Modern Catholic Literature (2025).
