Dr. Sujin Horwitz specializes in human resource management, organizational behavior, team diversity, and leadership development. Her research has examined the effects of team diversity on performance and outcomes, strategic human resources, and leadership in multidisciplinary environments. Her scholarly work has received several recognitions, including the Cutting-Edge Research Award from the Academy of Human Resource Development and the Annual Baylor Academy of Distinguished Educational Scholarship. Her meta-analysis and review of team diversity and team outcomes, published in the annual review issue of the Journal of Management (JOM, 2007), was later recognized as one of the top 20 team research articles in the journal’s Editors’ Choice Collections.

She also holds two senior professional certifications in human resources: SPHR and SHRM-SCP. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Horwitz worked as a cross-cultural trainer and learning consultant for Kia Motors and the Korea Electric Power Corporation in South Korea. She brings this professional experience into the classroom, helping students connect course concepts to real-world business practice while mentoring them in their academic and career development.

Her teaching excellence has been recognized with the St. Thomas Aquinas Teaching Award in 2023 and the Cameron School of Business Outstanding Professor Award in 2013. In addition to her teaching and research, Dr. Horwitz is actively engaged in service to the University of St. Thomas and the Cameron School of Business. She has served on numerous university and school committees and has found particular meaning in mentoring incoming students as a Freshman Symposium Faculty Mentor and advisor. In recognition of her service contributions, she received the Joseph M. McFadden Excellence in Service Award in 2022.
