Fr. Dempsey Rosales Acosta films for "Cristonautas" at EWTN studios.

Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) invited Fr. Dempsey Rosales Acosta SSL., STD., as a returning guest for Season 7 of the Spanish-language show "Cristonautas," for which he completed filming in September 2025. This incredible partnership allows Fr. Dempsey the opportunity to teach on “The Life of Paul and His Letters” for Season 7 while he  discusses Spanish theology programs at University of St. Thomas.

EWTN Global Catholic Network is the largest religious media network in the world, with 11 global TV channels are broadcast in multiple languages 24 hours a day, seven days a week to more than 435 million television households in more than 160 countries and territories.

Fr. Dempsey, Director of the UST Center Semillero and Miller Chair of Catholic Studies, was delighted to film with EWTN again.

“Last September, I had the honor of being invited by EWTN to record Season 6 of ‘Cristonautas,’ where I recorded 13 episodes focused on Holy Scripture,” he said. “These Spanish-language episodes were produced and broadcast internationally by EWTN from November 2024 to April 2025, reaching approximately 4 million people worldwide. Due to the positive feedback and success of Season 6, EWTN contacted me to begin recording Season 7. I recorded 13 new episodes for Season 7 with the main theme being ‘The Life of Paul and His Letters.’”

Season 7 of "Cristonautas" delves into the life of St. Paul, his missionary journeys, his letters and spirituality, all viewed through the lens of Catholic Tradition. Episodes include “The Conversion of Saint Paul and His Call to Apostleship,” “The Preaching of Saint Paul in the Synagogues of Damascus and Jerusalem” and “The Spirituality of Saint Paul and His Legacy for the Catholic Church.”

The five days of recording at EWTN Global Catholic Network headquarters in Irondale, Ala. were very full.

“My time at EWTN was quite intensive, with mornings and afternoons dedicated to recording sessions,” Fr. Dempsey said. “Evenings were spent diligently studying and revising content to ensure each recording session flowed as smoothly as possible. Additionally, the EWTN producers asked me to record 10 short ‘Bible Pills’ videos for their social ecosystem, including TV and social media. These videos are designed to educate the Catholic audience on the beauty and fundamental knowledge of Sacred Scripture, in accordance with our Catholic faith.”

Fr. Dempsey said the entire experience felt similar to a spiritual retreat.

“From my arrival at EWTN, I engaged in various meetings with producers, set aside time for prayer and daily Mass, and spent moments in front of the Blessed Sacrament, all while meticulously studying and refining the content I was to convey,” he said. “Before each recording session, I immersed myself in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to speak through me, recognizing that my words would reach millions. This opportunity, offered by EWTN, was both humbling and invigorating, allowing me to fulfill my vocation and mission.”

Fr. Dempsey also celebrates Mother Mary Angelica, EWTN’s foundress, who, through determination and perseverance, took her monastery’s garage and turned it into a television studio, pioneering EWTN as the United States’ first Catholic satellite television station in 1981.

“I am deeply moved by Mother Angelica's profound trust in God's providence, a legacy that is truly palpable among everyone at EWTN,” Fr. Dempsey said. “I am hopeful that my collaboration with EWTN will continue to grow, and I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity and the blessings EWTN bestows for the greater glory of God.”

EWTN plans to begin airing Season 7 on Jan. 25, 2026, a date chosen for its significance as the Solemnity of the Conversion of St. Paul and the week of ecumenical encounter in Rome. Subscribe to “Cristonautas” on YouTube to be notified when Season 7 is released.
